Tall Decorative Picket Board with Pointed Finish

This 1.2m pointed top picket board is planed smooth for a refined finish and pressure treated green to UC4 standards for excellent durability. Its taller profile offers increased visibility control while maintaining a classic, decorative garden look. The pointed top design adds a traditional touch, perfect for defining front gardens, walkways, or cottage-style boundaries.

With a 19mm thickness, this board pairs best with a planed back rail top and bottom, allowing the board to sit around 50mm proud of the rail for a traditional palisade effect.

For post support, we recommend 1.8m green timber fence posts or concrete fence posts — both allowing for a 60cm (2ft) burial depth to withstand wind loads. You can also extend the lifespan of timber posts with Post Saver Sleeves.

How far apart do I space my picket pales?

The standard layout is 70mm spacing, matching the board width for a hit-and-miss effect. For more privacy, reduce spacing to 50mm. Tighter spacing limits visibility and adds more coverage, while wider gaps allow airflow and reduce wind resistance. The spacing should reflect your desired balance of privacy and aesthetic.

How many pickets will I need?
