Decorative 1.2m Planed Green Picket Board for Traditional Fencing

This 1.2m round top picket board is a smooth-planed, pressure treated green (UC4) timber option ideal for creating medium-height picket fencing with a traditional and friendly appearance. The rounded top offers a softer aesthetic, perfect for gardens, paths, and low-perimeter fencing where visual appeal and light boundary marking are key.

Each board is approximately 19mm thick and works best when installed using our matching planed back rail at both the top and bottom. For a classic palisade effect, allow the pickets to extend roughly 50mm above and below the rails.

Use 1.8m wooden posts to allow for a strong 600mm (2ft) burial depth, or choose concrete posts for increased durability. Enhance wooden post lifespan with Post Saver Sleeves.

How far apart do I space my picket pales?

A common spacing is 70mm, matching the board width, to create a hit-and-miss pattern. For greater privacy, reduce the spacing to 50mm. Spacing ultimately depends on your desired aesthetic and wind flow needs.

How many pickets will I need?
