4.8m x 150mm x 22mm Wooden Gravel Board – Pressure Treated Green
Pressure-Treated Durability for Ground Contact
This 4.8m x 150mm x 22mm wooden gravel board is UC4 pressure treated in green, making it ideal for long runs of fencing in moisture-prone environments. Gravel boards are designed to sit at the base of a closeboard fence to elevate feather edge boards and protect them from splashback and decay. At 4.8m long, this board is perfect for minimising joins across extended fencing sections, offering both aesthetic continuity and structural strength.
Gravel boards also improve the visual appeal of a fence by providing a clean, level base and reducing contact between soil and timber components. They are essential for prolonging the life of your fencing investment.

Installation Systems
Traditional Timber System
Use with wooden fence posts, cant rails, and featheredge boards to build a classic closeboard fence. Attach the gravel board using galvanised fixings or timber screws for a secure, rot-resistant base.
Heavy-Duty Concrete System
Pair with concrete recessed posts and concrete gravel boards where maximum longevity is required. In this system, timber gravel boards can still be installed as a decorative facing in front of concrete boards or as an alternative where timber styling is preferred.

How do you install a wooden gravel board?
Timber gravel boards should be fixed securely at the base of your fence line, either nailed or screwed into wooden posts or rails. When using a concrete system, they can be positioned between recessed slots or surface-fixed in front for a traditional look. Ensure boards are level and allow a 150mm clearance from the ground up to feather edge boards for moisture prevention.
