How Does Postsaver 005 Sleeves Work?

Postsaver Sleeves uses a unique, dual-layer protective barrier system that is heat-applied around the ground-line section of the post.

The inner thermoplastic layer bonds directly to the timber, creating an air and watertight seal. As heat is applied, the outer layer shrinks tightly around the post to provide a tough, durable outer barrier.

Together, these two layers protect the timber from moisture, oxygen and fungi that enable ground-line decay, helping maximise the life of your fence posts.

Why Do Fence Posts Rot?

Timber posts rarely rot above ground or deep below the surface. Instead, decay occurs at the ground line, where air, moisture and fungi combine to create the perfect conditions for rot. This is the weakest part of any timber post and is responsible for the vast majority of fence post failures.
