3.6m x 75mm x 47mm Cant Rail – Pressure Treated Brown
This 3.6m cant rail is ideal for constructing longer or reinforced closeboard fencing runs. It is UC4 pressure treated in brown for maximum protection against rot and decay, especially in exposed outdoor environments. Cut using the (2EX) method from a 125mm x 47mm timber section, it finishes at approximately 75mm x 47mm with a chamfered edge for water runoff.
Each cant rail is installed so that it overlaps halfway onto the fence post, allowing the next rail to join cleanly in the centre. This consistent post-to-post layout maintains strength and visual uniformity across the entire fence line. The 3.6m length is best suited to post centres of 1.8m for added structural strength.
Use 100mm galvanised nails for timber posts, or alternatively, fix with timber screws or cup square bolts if using concrete recessed posts.

Installation Systems
Traditional Timber System
Combine with wooden fence posts, timber gravel boards, and featheredge boards to create a classic closeboard fence. For extended lifespan, Post Saver Sleeves can be used to protect posts at the vulnerable ground level.
Heavy-Duty Concrete System
Use with concrete recessed posts and concrete gravel boards for a rot-proof, maintenance-free structure. Fix cant rails into recessed posts using cup square bolts or strong timber screws.
Rail Guidance by Fence Height

How do you install cant rails?
Start at the bottom of your fence line and work upward, spacing rails evenly based on your desired finish height. Position each cant rail so it overlaps halfway onto the face of the post, allowing two rails to join at the centre. Fix securely with nails, screws, or bolts depending on the post material. Ensure the chamfered edge faces outward and upward to deflect water.
