1.83m x 150mm x 22mm Wooden Gravel Board – Pressure Treated Brown
Pressure Treated Brown Gravel Board for Fence Base Protection
This 1.83m x 150mm x 22mm brown wooden gravel board is UC4 pressure treated for durability and resistance against moisture, splashback, and ground rot. It’s designed to form the base of a traditional closeboard fencing system, providing a strong, rot-resistant platform for supporting featheredge boards.
With a sturdy 22mm thickness, this gravel board delivers both protection and structure while preserving the natural timber aesthetic. It’s ideal for domestic gardens, driveways, and boundary lines where both form and function are essential.
When paired with a 1.80m feather edge board, this gravel board raises the total finished height to approximately 1.95m. This extra height helps prevent decay by lifting the feather edge above the splash zone.

Traditional Closeboard Timber System
Combine with wooden fence posts, cant rails, and featheredge boards to build a timeless timber closeboard fence. This setup is ideal for residential and decorative boundaries, especially when matched with post saver sleeves for added protection at ground level.
Heavy-Duty Concrete Fencing System
Gravel boards can also be integrated into a heavy-duty fencing system using concrete recessed posts and concrete gravel boards for maximum strength. Fix the wooden gravel board in front of the concrete board to retain a timber appearance while benefiting from concrete’s rot resistance. Attach with timber screws, galvanised nails, or cup square bolts for a secure fit.

How do you install a wooden gravel board?
To install a gravel board, begin by setting your fence posts securely using Postcrete. Once level, fix the gravel board horizontally between each post at the base, ensuring it runs flush and straight to form a solid foundation. Use galvanised nails, timber screws, or bolts depending on your system. This sets the baseline height for your cant rails and featheredge boards.
