0.9m Pointed Top Sawn Picket Board – Pressure Treated Brown
Traditional Pressure Treated Fence Pale with Pointed Top Finish
This 0.9m pointed top picket board is sawn and pressure treated brown, offering a cost-effective and classic solution for low-level garden fencing. The pointed top adds a traditional aesthetic and slight security enhancement, making it ideal for front gardens, flower bed borders, or low boundary lines.
Each board is sawn for a natural finish and is designed to slightly overhang the backing rails, creating a well-balanced, palisade-style effect with strong vertical definition.
Ideal Pairings and System Setup
To complete your fence, pair these sawn brown pickets with a brown horse rail (87mm x 38mm x 3.6m) for both top and bottom rails. This setup allows your pickets to sit approximately 50mm proud of the rails at the top and bottom for traditional visual appeal.
Recommended post options:
-
1.5m wooden fence posts for easy digging and matching timber finish
-
Or 1.5m concrete recessed posts for added strength and weather resistance
To increase the lifespan of timber posts, we advise installing Post Saver Sleeves for reliable ground-level rot protection.
Prefer not to build from scratch? Consider our pre-assembled picket fence panels available in 1.83m (6ft) wide sections.
Add a Matching Gate
Maintain a cohesive design with a matching garden picket gate in the same pointed top style and finish.
How Far Apart Do I Space My Picket Pales?
A standard spacing is 70mm, which visually aligns with the width of each picket and creates a “hit-and-miss” style of alternating visibility and privacy. If you’re aiming for more privacy, reduce the spacing to 50mm. The right spacing should reflect your personal style and the intended function of your fence.
How Many Pickets Will I Need?
At 70mm spacing with 70mm wide pickets, you’ll need approximately 7 pickets per metre. For more detailed planning, view our full picket fence installation guide, covering spacing, layout, fixings, and tools.
